In any case then this seems extremely unlikely to have anything to do with Linux Mint. Probably as said as a result of simply no SSH server running on 192.168.2.9 but otherwise as a matter of SSH on 192.168.2.9 being configured to not listen on the network interface you are connecting to, or to not allow connections from a to it unknown system, or. The message simply says that 192.168.2.9 is refusing your connection. To confirm that all's well in that sense, verify from the output of ifconfig that your network adaptor has an 192.168.2.x address as well, but it's not to be expected that anything's wrong there. the 192.168.2.9 system you'd be getting some form of routing error or timeout instead. If it were a matter of incompatible network setup on your Mint system vs. The common reason for that message is no SSH server in fact running/listening on 192.168.2.9. If 192.168.2.9 is a Linux Mint system, including if it's "victor-ThinkCentre-M58p" itself, that's to say that you will need to on it run that sudo apt-get install openssh-server command so as to install the SSH server on it. Unless 192.168.2.9 is in fact that same system "victor-ThinkCentre-M58p" that you are trying to install things onto, i.e., unless it was just intended as a test, that system 192.168.2.9 reporting "Connection refused" is saying, well, that the machine 192.168.2.9 is refusing the connection that there's nothing to be done on "victor-ThinkCentre-M58" but only on 192.168.2.9. Synaptic or sudo apt from the command line work via your user password.Ģ.
